We are building a next-generation decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol on EVM-compatible blockchains. While smart contracts form the protocol’s on-chain logic, a significant part of the platform relies on a robust off-chain distributed backend.
We are looking for an experienced Distributed Backend Engineer to design and build highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant backend infrastructure that powers our protocol.
This is not a traditional CRUD/API backend role. You will work on distributed systems that process blockchain events in real time, operate blockchain infrastructure, coordinate asynchronous workloads, and provide reliable services for millions of requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Design scalable distributed backend services and fault-tolerant microservices in Go.
  • Build event-driven architectures optimized for high throughput, low latency, and automatic recovery.
  • Integrate with multiple EVM-compatible networks; develop event listeners and transaction broadcasting services.
  • Operate and optimize RPC node infrastructure; handle reorgs and transaction lifecycle management safely.
  • Build high-performance blockchain indexers and distributed worker pipelines that process millions of events.
  • Design REST/gRPC APIs, auth services, caching, rate limiting, notifications, and analytics.
  • Deploy with Docker and Kubernetes; own CI/CD, monitoring, logging, alerting, and infrastructure automation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Go.
  • Experience designing distributed systems and microservice architectures.
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, parallel programming, and system design principles.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS).
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and production-grade APIs.
  • Experience debugging distributed systems; familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure; strong Linux knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Ethereum or other EVM-compatible networks and operating blockchain nodes.
  • Knowledge of Solidity and smart contract interactions; blockchain event indexing experience.
  • Familiarity with DeFi protocols (DEXs, lending, staking, or derivatives) and blockchain data pipelines.
  • Experience with high-frequency or low-latency systems; familiarity with IPFS or cryptography fundamentals.

Technologies:

  • Programming: Go, SQL, Bash
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse (preferred)
  • Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (preferred)
  • Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
  • Blockchain: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BNB Chain, Polygon

What You’ll Build:

  • Blockchain event indexing platform, transaction processing, and distributed job pipelines
  • API gateway, RPC management layer, wallet services, and notification platform
  • Analytics, protocol monitoring, risk engine, and price aggregation services
  • Liquidation services, keeper automation, and internal developer platform

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building blockchain infrastructure providers, explorers, or Layer 2 infrastructure
  • Experience building indexers similar to The Graph; validator or RPC infrastructure
  • Distributed caching, database performance optimization, event sourcing, or CQRS

What We’re Looking For:

We value engineers who think beyond writing APIs. You should be comfortable designing systems that remain reliable under heavy load, recover gracefully from failures, and scale horizontally across multiple services and regions.
If you enjoy solving distributed systems challenges, optimizing backend performance, and building infrastructure that supports mission-critical DeFi applications, we’d like to hear from you.
